Criminal-Immigration Roundtable

Since 2011, IDP has held a monthly roundtable that brings together advocates working on the front lines of criminal-immigration representation in New York City.

Initially conceived as a way to build community and support Padilla lawyers advising institutional criminal defenders about the immigration consequences of criminal convictions, the roundtable has expanded its scope significantly, drawing on the abundant resources and expertise available in New York City.

The roundtable serves as a venue for discussions about cutting-edge legal arguments, practice questions on protocol for immigration units, and opportunities for collaborative advocacy around local issues affecting individuals who have had contact with the NYC criminal justice system.
